10 years of Sievert and signotec

Sievert SE now uses numerous signotec Gamma and signotec Omega signature pads, as well as our specialist software solution for companies in the logistics sector.

Sievert SE itself has been in existence even longer than its partnership with signotec – for over 100 years. Sievert SE was founded in 1919 as a trading company for building materials and fertilisers and now operates as a specialist in the field of building materials and logistics solutions, with approximately 1,700 employees at around 60 locations across Europe and Asia.

With the help of our specialised software solution, the handwritten electronic signature processes in Sievert SE’s goods dispatch department are simplified. The main focus is on enabling the majority of necessary actions – from data entry to the signing of delivery notes or transport documents – to be carried out directly on the connected signature pad. This is because, due to local conditions, it is often not possible for the carrier or the signatory to access a screen. The signed PDF documents are then archived within the existing system environment and linked to the delivery. In this way, the documents relating to the archived transaction can be retrieved at any time.

Since 2014, it has been possible to embed images in delivery notes, and since 2019, delivery notes can also be embedded within transport records. This means that instead of having to sign and archive countless delivery notes, only a single transport document is required, with the associated delivery notes attached as a PDF. The reasons for introducing this comprehensive solution from signotec were, on the one hand, the desire for drivers to be able to sign digitally and, on the other, the wish for delivery notes to be accessible electronically. Furthermore, a key consideration was the elimination of physical filing in folders, thereby saving on paper and the very high processing costs.

In 2020, Sievert SE, with 21 sites where delivery notes are digitally signed and archived, can look back on over 1.8 million digitally signed delivery notes and over 400,000 digitally signed shipments.
