ING Bank Poland chooses solutions from signotec

Combining the progress of digitalisation with existing security standards – this is the current challenge facing most institutions in the banking sector and in many other sectors too. In the banking sector in particular, digital signature solutions must offer the greatest possible legal certainty. Whether opening current or savings accounts, granting powers of attorney, or making deposits or withdrawals – electronic signature solutions can be used in all these areas to make processes more efficient.

The signoSign/Universal concept emerged as the most practical solution at ING Bank Śląski S.A., as it allows for the deepest level of integration into the existing banking system. Thanks to the modern REST API interface, the application can be integrated into the existing banking applications in such a way that documents can be signed via the web without any disruption to the user experience. The signature is embedded into the document in a manner that is ISO and eIDAS compliant and meets the requirements for advanced electronic signatures. This ensures that the entire document is reliably protected against alterations.

The advantage of the handwritten electronic signature using a signature pad was clear during the technology selection process: the personal signature constitutes a first-class declaration of intent, is always available and cannot be lost or forgotten. Furthermore, it represents a familiar process with the highest possible acceptance, offers protection against hasty decisions and can be used in a legally compliant manner.

At ING, signatures are created on the signotec Delta signature pad, which has clearly prevailed over simple pen displays in terms of user-friendliness and technical integration. The signotec Delta is designed for applications where it is important that A4 documents can be displayed in full. The technology used here is unique; unlike other devices on the market, the signotec Delta is a genuine signature pad and not simply a monitor extension. The differences in terms of the security of the biometric features captured with the signature are significant: For instance, the forensic data can be encrypted using a public RSA key of up to 4096 bits as soon as the signature is made on the pad. The Delta is therefore the ideal solution for banks and all businesses where security, performance and easy technical integration play a key role.
