New update for signoSign/Universal (version 3.24.0)

You can find a detailed overview of the update in this announcement.
With the signoSign/Universal web application, you can sign your documents with greater flexibility than ever before. Use the application on your computer, smartphone or tablet. Capture signatures in person or send documents to your contractual partners for them to sign.
Here are the key new features and bug fixes at a glance:
New features
- A new signing method, “Click to Sign”, has been introduced, enabling the digital signing of documents without a handwritten signature. This method is particularly well suited to scenarios where documents need to be signed quickly and easily without the need for a handwritten signature. We recommend combining this with the SMS-TAN procedure.
- It is now also possible to send SMS messages via the Telekom Magenta Business API. New server settings are available for system operators for this purpose.
- It is now possible to add a “reference” to sent SMS messages, which is stored by the SMS provider and can be used for analysis. New settings are available for system operators for this purpose.
- SMS sending now also takes the server’s proxy settings into account.
- System operators can now permanently enable the new document view for all users via a global setting.
Bug fixes
- Bug fix addressing an issue where changes were overwritten when a document was edited simultaneously on different clients.
- Bug fix for an issue where zooming in the new document view on mobile devices caused errors.
- Fixed an issue where the signature field name was not displayed correctly when using Mobile Capture.
- Fixed an issue where no error message was displayed if an SMS was sent incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue where signature attachments were unexpectedly truncated.
- Fixed an issue with the alignment of signature appendages.
- Fixed an issue where error messages were not displayed during remote saving.
- Fixed an issue where globally disabled signing methods could still be used.
- Fixed an issue where signing signature fields could be initiated even though no signing method had been assigned. Such signature fields are now hidden.
- Fixed an issue where the system incorrectly searched for connected signature pads.
- Fixed an issue where older signature pads without RSA functions could not be used in the new document view.
- Fixed an issue where the documentLifeTimeJob did not work with MS-SQL.

Update notes:
GENERAL:
When used in combination with signoSign/2, an update to signoSign/2 version 11.11.3 or later is strongly recommended to avoid errors when sharing documents. Further information on the potential error can be found in our FAQ entry at https://support.signotec.com/de/support/solutions/articles/77000579113.
CLOUD:
The update will be made available automatically in the cloud on 10 March 2025 as usual. There are no special considerations to note.
ON-PREMISES:
- For customers with their own servers (on-premises), this version will cause incompatibilities when using the supplied H2 database. In general, the H2 database is only suitable for testing purposes and should not be used in production. Instead, a managed database such as MySQL should be used. The supplied H2 database has undergone a major update in this version to address known security vulnerabilities. The update is not compatible with existing H2 databases. Data migration is not possible. The existing database must therefore be deleted so that signoSign/Universal can create a new database in the new version the next time it is started. An external database should be connected for production use. For customers who have already connected an external database (e.g. MySQL), this change has no impact.
- Please note that the update can only be carried out by a system administrator.
- Please check before the update whether any changes to the integration are necessary.
- If an external database is used, it may be necessary to extend the database schema using the migration tool.
