signotec is donating signature pads and software licences to the German Red Cross Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg District Association

With 192 national societies, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. The German Red Cross is part of this global community, which has been providing comprehensive assistance to people in conflict situations, during disasters and in health or social emergencies for over 150 years.

As one of 34 district associations within the German Red Cross (DRK) Regional Association of Baden-Württemberg, the DRK Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg District Association is one of the largest emergency services and welfare organisations in northern Baden. It covers emergency services, social services, projects in the social sector and refugee aid, a wide range of first-aid courses, as well as the service and home emergency call centre.

The district association currently requires support, particularly for the home emergency call centre department, in order to meet the increased hygiene requirements resulting from the coronavirus. The home emergency call system is a service for people who wish to live safely in their own homes despite old age, illness or disability. Using a small transmitter worn on the wrist like a watch, help can be summoned at any time at the touch of a button. The DRK thus offers safe and reliable care within the comfort of one’s own home – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When a customer opts for the home emergency call service, a field representative draws up a contract with them, which is then processed internally by at least four other staff members. To reduce contact points and thus minimise the risk of infection through electronic processing, signotec has now donated two signotec Omega signature pads and the associated software licences to the DRK Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg District Association. The signature pad is used on-site to sign the contract, enabling the subsequent processes to be carried out entirely electronically. “Thanks to the fantastic support from signotec, we are able to optimise the workflow in our home emergency call department,” explains Marco Herm from the project management team for the digitalisation of the emergency call centre at the DRK Rhein-Neckar/Heidelberg District Association. “The signature solution from signotec is ideal, particularly in terms of hygiene!” he continues.
