signotec promotes innovation: partnership with Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts

11.02.2025

Students are developing creative designs for modern signature pads

As part of an educational partnership, student designers had the opportunity to design signature pads. Their concepts were presented to Arne Brandes, Managing Director of signotec, at the Design Centre of Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH) at the end of November. On display were various 3D-printed prototypes, which had previously been presented digitally during a visit to signotec’s Rodewald site.

The challenge was demanding: the designs were not only to integrate a card reader, electronic pen and display, but also to incorporate these into an attractive, functional design. Supported by practical insights – including a visit to a plastics processing company that manufactures components for signotec – the students worked on their concepts within just one week.

“At signotec, we place great importance on promoting innovative approaches and putting new ideas into practice,” explained Managing Director Arne Brandes. “Our collaboration with Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts is a striking example of how young talent can bring fresh perspectives to product development.”

The results of the collaboration speak for themselves: the designs presented are practical, and signotec plans to incorporate some of these ideas into the further development of future products. In return, the students at HsH benefited from gaining an insight into their future working lives and from engaging with an experienced, globally active company such as signotec.

We would like to thank Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts for this valuable exchange and look forward to continuing to work with young talent on further innovative ideas in the future and incorporating these into our development – always with the aim of offering our customers the best solutions.
