Electronic signatures in the HILTES POS system

With the integration of signotec signature pads into the HILTES POS system, documents requiring a signature can be signed digitally directly at the till. This significantly reduces the need for paper printouts for internal archiving purposes, whilst the document and signature are merged and archived electronically.

The solution supports not only transactions at the payment terminal, but also various till receipts within HILTES and WinCash 5000. The generated files can be enriched with metadata and automatically transferred to an archiving system.

This is particularly of interest to businesses that wish to streamline signature processes at the till without a change of medium and subsequently retrieve specific receipts from the archive. Furthermore, the system can also be used without a connected payment terminal if only internal till receipts are to be digitised and archived.

Features & Benefits

In the HILTES POS system, signature processes are managed directly at the till. The signature is provided on the signotec signature pad, whilst the receipt data and the signature are automatically merged and made available for further archiving.

Sign at the till
Documents requiring a signature are displayed directly on the signotec Pad during the checkout process and signed digitally there. This reduces the need for manual intermediate steps and speeds up the process at the POS.
Support for till and ZVT receipts
The integration covers both terminal receipts, such as those for credit cards and direct debits, as well as various till receipts, including invoices, payment receipts, receipt cancellations and new customer receipts. This allows the solution to be integrated into a variety of till transactions.
Archiving with metadata
The signed receipts are saved as files and tagged with metadata such as customer, time, receipt number, receipt type, till or branch. This allows the documents to be searched for and retrieved specifically within the archive system.
Can also be used without a payment terminal
If only internal POS receipts are to be digitally signed and archived, the solution can also be operated without a ZVT connection. This provides flexibility for use cases where no terminal receipts need to be processed.
Automated filing in the archive system
The documents are stored locally or on the network and can be automatically imported by existing archiving software. For till receipts, a PDF is usually generated that corresponds to the original printed receipt.
Legally valid electronic signature
The document and signature are digitally merged and archived in a legally compliant manner. In addition to the visible signature, biometric characteristics such as writing speed and pressure are also recorded. This data is stored in encrypted form and can be used as evidence in the event of a dispute.
